Whenever I feel afraid I whistle a happy tune

I am officially the worst blogger ever. I don't know why, but recently blogging has just not made it to my to-do list and I feel terribly about it. Often times I start projects and never complete them and I desperately don't want this blog to turn out that way. To rekindle the flame I think a music post is in order. To be honest, I really have no authority in music posts whatsoever, yet nothing compares to the feeling that rises inside you when a really really good song comes on the radio and dramatically alters your mood. Also, nothing compares with the immense satisfaction of knowing you were the first one to listen to some indie artist when their music gets played on MTV. So here it goes, please enjoy.

Please Don't Touch - Polly Scattergood

And We Danced... - Macklemore

Brighter Than Sunshine - Aqualung

I've rediscovered how much I love the sound of acoustic guitar. I can sit at my computer listening to my iTunes and feel like there is someone sitting next to me playing the guitar. Okay, that's a little exaggerated, but on rainy nights nothing seems homier than the sound of acoustic guitar.

Love actually

I have finals this week, so new posts may not be an option, but here are some lovely Lady Gaga pics from the new Elle issue for you to view in the meantime.

Maybe you would have been something I'd be good at

A bad day can always become a good one with the right amount of Kate Moss editorial. I particularly like this one's Grecian goddess vibe. The horse was also a brilliant touch, the most beautiful of models with the most beautiful of beasts. Pair these photos with Tegan and Sara's album The Con (favorites are "Hop a Plane" and "Call It Off") and you've created the perfect early December pick-me-up.

Scarlett and Pete make an album.

If solely the cover photo doesn't make you want to buy the album, than the music should. While I am often skeptical of the singer-actress types (ie. Hilary Duff, Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus), Scarlett proves over and over again that she can easily shake the stereotypes being imposed on her. Like fellow singer-actress Zooey Deschanel, Scarlett's voice has an ethereal yet raw quality not heard often enough in today's music. As of right now my two favorite tracks are "Relator" (the album's first single) and "Clean". If you are a fan of Zooey's collaboration project that is She & Him then I promise that you will love Scarlett and Pete. You can see that life's for us to talk about...

I wanna be at Bonnarooooooo

Earlier today I was telling a friend that all I want to do this summer is go to music festivals and wear flowers in my hair. Here are some pics of the well-dresssed ladies at Bonnaroo Music Festival living my dream.

The soundtrack to my summer.

Dont you love her already?

I just added a playlist to the blog (see panel on right) so that there will be something nice for you to listen to as you peer and peruse. My new musical obsession is the Swedish Lykke Li. Every summer I always have that one song or smattering of a few songs that define the summer. This summer Little Bit by Lykke Li may just be that song.
